M-IDZOMER comes to an end having had 5,700 visitors

Over the past four days, the eleventh edition of the music and culture festival organised by M Leuven and Het Depot attracted 5,700 music and culture lovers in M's rooms and garden. They enjoyed live music, exhibitions by Wael Shawky, Naufus Ramírez-Figueroa, Open M and an exhibition by M resident Tom Hallet.
"Seeing people enjoying culture and music together in M is always special. The cooperation between Het Depot and M Leuven creates a unique interaction of talent in the field of art and music. That people appreciate this combination is evident from the number of visitors. This year we had 5,700 visitors making it a real success. I am already looking forward to the next edition," Denise Vandevoort, alderwoman for culture and chairwoman of the M board, says with a smile.
Peter Bary, general manager of M Leuven, adds: "When we do M-IDZOMER, we supplement our current exhibitions with surprising performances, installations and slam poetry inspired by the M collection. 'Mare’ was emerging talent Tom Hallet’s exhibition of the result of his M residency with . M-IDZOMER introduces music lovers to exhibitions such as 'Wael Shawky' and 'Open M'. Art lovers can immerse themselves in musical offerings from Sylvie Kreusch to Tindersticks. Judging by the visitor numbers, this combination is certainly liked.
"It is a success given the circumstances (after two summers of no festival). M’s unique setting are just as enjoyable as they used to be and the highlights were Tindersticks, Buffalo Tom and Black Sea Dahu. The discovery of the year? Bobbi Lu on the Sound Track Stage", says Mike Naert, general and artistic director of Het Depot.
